This is homework2 on tables and links.

Tables of contents:

1/ Creating tables - Moving tables - Inserts - Resizing - Border - Cell Spacing and cell spacing. See also Homework and My flowers.

2/ Hyperlinks to another page - Hyperlinks to the same page.

3/ More... and more practice.

See the difference in the border and cell spacing here between the above Fig A and the below Fig B? I had made a table of 2 columns with two rows each, then added more cells/columns to the right. Somehow I ended up with this. Obviously, the machine did not pick up the same format for the new addition. I couldn't get the pattern of border for the bottom row, no matter what I do. For the enlargement links I made separate pages for the pictures in .html

What I did to fix it was deleting the bottom row and inserting a new one. When I inserted the new row in its place, it picked up the pattern from the first row. Then I centered the cells. The picture above is exactly what I want. To add text and color is no sweat. The hyperlinks were done with "image propreties" and .jpg images istead of the .html images.

Three things I learned here:

1 - When the tables are stuck together, separating them is impossible, but you can do Cut and Paste them anywhere any time.

2 -You can have the size of the picture equal to each other by modifying the measurements in the code source.( if the pictures came from the same rolls. they will keep the proportions ok.

3 - I am able to make the border the way I like by adding one frame in between pictures.

Hurrah!!!

Now the links: 1- Links to enlarge. 2- Links to the same page.

1- Link the thumbnail to the same big picture, which is the same jpg: right click image> choose image properties>do the default hyperlink where the "location" site is

2- To bookmark the place where you want to go back to, go there at the source and type:

<a name=" description of the place"><./a>

At the bottom of the page type this in the source:

<a href="#description of the place">what shows as text</a>

More practice...

To make a hyperlink from the thumbnail to the .html picture page: (I am not sure I mastered this): 1-select the thumbnail 2- go to Insert click Hyperlink. 3- in the drop down choose"other" 4-Type the name of the picture file in the site marked as url. (We will try more of this in class.)
