Rice-Silver Exercise

The Rice-Silver Exercise Class is one of the longest running programs at the Senior Center, starting prior to the opening of the current facility. The name came from the former co-directors, and was set up by Sarah Odum, a graduate student from the UVa Sports Medicine Department. It is open to all current members, male and female. The exercises are low impact stretching and strengthening. Equal time is spent both standing and on a mat. In lieu of a paid director, class members use either a tape or CD. The session lasts 45 minutes and meets on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. in Room A. There is no charge. Members are welcome to observe before making it part of their weekly routine.
